At Lee’s General Landscaping, we take on even the toughest yard challenges, helping homeowners rediscover the potential of their outdoor spaces. Paul W., a West Seattle resident, shared his experience with us after we tackled his neglected yard in 2017. His thoughtful review captures the hard work and dedication our team brings to every project. Here’s what Paul had to say:
“We recently purchased a house in the West Seattle area with a yard which had been neglected for years and also used as a dumping ground for random pieces of concrete and fallen trees. Ugly only begins to describe it, weeds everywhere, poor soil.
Lee’s was very prompt in coming to provide an estimate and setting up the appointment. The estimate was reasonable given the scope of work. We had asked for rototilling; Duy explained that we needed the old sod removed first.
Scope of work: remove topsoil, clean up all debris, weed certain areas, bring in yards and yards of compost, then rototill. They showed up as promised, worked super hard, and did everything they said they would. Billing was as promised, no hidden extras. We had one question and Duy immediately took care of it. Very professional, hard working, nice guys, can’t say enough good about this.”
Scope of Work: A Complete Yard Overhaul
Paul’s yard was in dire need of attention after years of neglect. The project included:
- Topsoil Removal: Stripping away the old sod to prepare the ground for improvement.
- Debris Cleanup: Removing concrete, fallen trees, and other debris cluttering the yard.
- Weeding: Clearing invasive weeds to make room for healthy plants.
- Compost Application: Bringing in yards of compost to enrich the poor soil.
- Rototilling: Breaking up and aerating the soil to support future growth.
Challenges & Solutions
Neglected yards like Paul’s come with unique difficulties, but our team tackled each one head-on:
- Debris and Waste: Years of accumulated waste required thorough cleanup and disposal.
- Poor Soil Conditions: Applying compost and rototilling revitalized the soil, creating a strong foundation for a healthy yard.
- Client Education: Duy’s explanation of the process, such as removing sod before rototilling, ensured Paul understood the steps and felt confident in the project plan.
Best Practices in Action
- Transparent Communication: From providing a clear estimate to answering questions promptly, we kept Paul informed at every stage.
- Punctuality and Reliability: Paul appreciated that we showed up on time and completed everything as promised.
- Hard Work and Integrity: By delivering exactly what we quoted—without hidden costs—we earned Paul’s trust and satisfaction.
